Advanced Nitrox and Decompression ProceduresThe Professional Scuba Association International's Advanced Nitrox
Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to utilise enriched
air (Nitrox) at oxygen concentrations up to and including 100% by
volume (EAN22 to Oxygen) in their diving activities including stage
decompression procedures. This course involves limited decompression
with one gas switch. It is highly recommended the Advanced Nitrox Diver
candidates also take Narcosis Management - Level III in order to expand
and enhance their ERD knowledge, skills and training, and to prepare
them for required deco stops. Extended Range Nitrox
PSAI's Extended Range Nitrox course is intended for the diver
wishing to dive to depths between 46m and 55m with
extended bottom times. Stage decompression techniques are taught as
decompression obligations are incurred for the extended depths and
bottom times. This course primarily utilises air as the bottom gas and
nitrox and oxygen as decompression gases.
There is also an introduction to the use of Helium although the
student will not be qualified to use Helium. This course may precede or
be combined with Trimix Level 2 (Expedition) as a direct entry where
there is documented proof of experience of Extended Range Nitrox
Diving. This course may be undertaken in the equipment of choice based on prior qualification. Trimix Level 1This course provides the training required to competently and safely
utilise breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged
decompression, utilising nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during
decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres in conditions similar to
or better than the assessment conditions. This course may be undertaken
in the equipment of choice based on prior qualification. Trimix Level 2
This additional experience level assesses the experience and
performance of the Trimix Diver and following successful assessment
dives to within 3 metres of a target depth may be awarded a rating
maximum of 75 metres in conditions similar to or better than the
assessment conditions. In cases where there is documented proof of
prior experience the Professional Instructor may combine level 1 and 2.
This may be undertaken in the equipment of choice based on prior
qualification.
| Trimix Level 3This additional experience level assesses the experience and
performance of the Level 2 Trimix Diver and following successful
assessment dives to a maximum of 80 metres in Great Britain may be
awarded a rating maximum of 100 metres in conditions similar to or
better than the assessment conditions. Proof of successful involvement
within the structure of well-run expeditions and an additional season's
diving to build experience are typical of documented experience
requirement. This may be undertaken in the equipment of choice based on
prior qualification. Closed Circuit RebreatherPoseidon Discovery Mk VI and APD Inspiration and Evolution Rebreather Specific PSAI Courses guides the diver
in very practical methods and techniques of the use of their
specific rebreather for a variety of applications. The courses are
based on the most up to date information and training techniques
available.
This is an entry level certification course for qualified Advanced
nitrox and Decompression Procedures divers wishing to utilise air
diluent fixed and variable partial pressure oxygen closed circuit
rebreathers.
The course is to a maximum depth of 40 metres without decompression
techniques and 45 metres with prior decompression techniques skills. By
virtue of the decompression procedures qualification decompression
dives can be undertaken. Mixed Gas Closed Rebreather
This is a progression level certification course for qualified
rebreather divers wishing to utilise gases other than air or nitrox
with a rebreather initially to 60 & 75 metres then to a maximum
depth of 100 msw. The statements for Trimix Level 1, 2 and 3 will apply. |
